That's exactly what it says, ST.  Before this trip our canoe trips were every other year, or thereabouts.  After this trip, when he developed the anemia and the kidney disease, it took about a year for him to get his iron built up and get the diet regulated. Then in 1994 we made a pact with each other that we would go to the canoe country every single year for as long as we were physically able.   

With the exception of 1997, when I injured my back on the way to Minnesota and we ended up bailing on our vacation and coming back to Michigan for an entire summer of PT for me, we have kept that vow.  Every single year since 1994.  Even the summer Spartan1 was doing his dialysis we stayed in HoHo's "cabin" and took day trips.  And now that I am no longer mobile enough for a real canoe trip, we come and stay in a cabin on the edge of the BWCA and take day trips.  Our last BWCA canoe trip was in 2013, and I am not saying that there won't be another one--I am working on it.  But we do what we can, and we enjoy every minute that we are there.

Age is a number.  You do what you can, while you can.  And if you have enjoyed it, and have no regrets, then life is good.
