I did not claim weight as being a factor in hull speed...just my speed. And, actually, not speed, but rather my pace, in combination with the overall boat design or hull shape, as you so noted Solus, due to more efficient paddling. Of course, none of this is empirical and YMMV. BTW....definitely faster over the portages! pd |
