Sunday morning check on #75 and see if we make it to the finish. We're all carrying "spots" with online tracking. I'm hoping this finally satisfies my curiosity about this thing. It's getting in the way of my tripping.

Starts 7-25-15 Saturday evening at 9 pm, hope to finish in ~16-17hrs. The night paddle is kind of cool.

M_M, We're using a Savage River JD Pro 2. Sprints for the LeMans start position finish this evening. A good predictor of the finish order. If you've never seen the start you should look for a video on YouTube.  Crazy stuff

Thanks all for the well wishes.

Checked your progress on that GPS tracker map( pretty cool) this am. Looks like you guys will finish about 9 am give or take. I admire your effort. 8-)

ST, We dropped out. My partner injuried his back 10 days before the race and gave it a try. But it wasn't meant to be. That's part of it, stuff happens.

Very foggy night, looked weird, sometimes I swear the fog looked like sandbars or islands, and it would be just the fog.

As far as the "spot", I turned it in to timing crew and signed out of the race. But they must have left it running, so looks like we were still going or in some campgrounds.

Thanks for the well wishes. I was feeling better than ever BTW. Feel bad for my partner, he didn't want to let me down. But he needed to quit. Some of the teams we were running with finished just over the 16 hour mark, kind of what I thought we could do. I kind of knew things weren't good long before he confessed he was hurting, we were just getting caught and passed.

Sorry to hear that.
I give your buddy lot's of props for even giving it a try.
Paddling even when healthy at a hard pace is hard on even a healthy back. As someone who has dealt with back issues, I can only imagine doing in a canoe marathon.

When I checked your progress this morning, the GPS site said the average speed was about 8 mph, but your "current" speed was about 1 mph? I just figured you had stopped for a minute for whatever reason.

Update, My partner's back seems to be getting better, so hopefully nothing permanent. That's good.
