I'm a wilderness camp director, looking for a good introductory, non-BWCA lake trip for groups of youth. We had previously been going to Sylvania in the UP, until they informed us this year that there's a rule against guided trips :-X
I'm thinking about offering a trip in the Trout Lake Semi-Primitive Non-motorized Area, part of the Chippewa Nat. Forest, but I can't find very much information about it. We want to be able to do a 4 night trip, and the maps aren't very clear about portages and campsites in some of the farther out lakes. Has any one been there? Any thoughts?
