When we left Irvine that year and headed that way it was pouring rain most of the day. I was traveling with an ambitious tandem crew, me and Bernie in my solo. So I didn't stop there. Split Rock was a great campsite which I've visited a couple times. Never caught a walleye there so I'll have to go back... Darn! In 2012 which was right after the big fire which effected the north end of that and with the big rain there was serious run off from the burned area which made the waters pretty murky. Also the creeks were streams and the streams were raging rivers. I'd like to check that area out again sometime.
