It's almost here!

So Friday (March 11) is welcome day at Canoecopia!!

As you know, Old Salt has lined up the Country Inn and Suites in Monona as Quiet Journey Central.

Our meeting room will be available starting at 3:00 pm, and we'll open it up for meet and greet as folks arrive. Soda and beer will be provided (donation to defray costs), so stop by whenever you'd like.

We're then planning on ordering pizzas for Friday dinner, probably around 6:00. We can make the plan based on how many folks are there and interested in eating. There are several good pizza choices in the area, and I'll see about getting some menus from which a choice can be made.

As dinner winds down, Old Salt will be holding our Alaska trip planning session, for those who are interested.

The room is available until 10:00, and I suspect we'll keep it going until then.

Let us know your thoughts and plans, so we can make sure we have enough supplies.

Please post here if you want to order pizza. Angelos is just up the road and they have great pizza. We should gather about 5:30 pm or so to decide what we want. ;) I'm looking forward to seeing you at Copia. It's become our modern-day Voyaguers Rendezvous.

I have contacted Harlan and some others who have joined us in the past. Harlan has some huge groups coming to Red Lake and has to miss the show. That means WCPP info will be scarcer at the show. People can bring their maps to our gatherings and get the info they desire. Some may even be willing to disclose fishing hotspots after as we discuss things.

Thanks for inviting them. Sounds like QJ will be the place to be for WCPP inside information. ;)

My wife and I will be there for Friday night pizza.  We reserved a room at Country Inn and Suites for both Friday and Saturday night.  Thanks for setting this up.

I hope to be there around 5:30 Friday (hoping no weather delays driving in from Ohio).  Thx for the invite and setting things up and looking forward to seeing everyone.  Unfortunately, I have some other commitments on Sunday, so need to be heading back Saturday afternoon/early evening.

What are you saying? I know for a fact there will be a red lake outfitters booth there. Ha-ha. So save me some pizza I think I have to be there until close.

We had originally planned to be with you on Friday evening, and to be at 'Copia for the three days as usual.  But I had a total knee replacement 17 days ago and I am not ready yet for a car trip and the physical demands of that weekend.  Just don't have the stamina.

My surgery went well and my PT, while brutal, seems to be progressing.  The timing just isn't good for 'Copia this year.

Enjoy your weekend and your time of friendship.  We will plan to be with you in 2017.

Several have pmed me regarding a late arrival on Friday and the pizza and beer possibilities. In addition to the 5:30 or so order, we can put in a second order later, possibly 7-7:30 pm. We are asking for $15 to cover pizza and beverage.

The point is, whatever time you arrive, we will have pizza for you IF we know you are coming. If you will be late, let us know what you like on it. Either post here or pm me with your request. 8-)

News flash... Harlan was able to come down. So the ugly fat guy won't be in the rlo booth to much. I'll do my best to get him there. I'll hold his booth hostage til he agrees to come since I'm in possession of it.

I should be there in plenty of time for that first round of pizza.  Thanks, guys, for making the arrangements!

My apologies guys. We had an agreement that the front desk would direct folks to us. They also should have had a sign. I plan to share that feedback with them. They also made the room sound bigger than it was. Sorry.

Great evening guys...enjoyed meeting all of you....actually, sitting in the lobby for a bit with Portagedog, Nanda and BillConner and then heading up to the 3rd floor "QJ room" made it almost like two parties in a single evening!!   8-)

Thx for setting things up and sharing info on Alaska....I hope it becomes a reality for me in the near future....
