Title: Re: Today’s Short Rant From An Old Geezer Post by MossBack on Feb 22nd, 2017 at 7:08pm
When I was younger, younger always being defined as Pre-Drivers License, I spent many happy days with my Father and several of his more interesting friends, fishing bigger reservoirs. Center Hill, Dale Hollow, Barkley and the always curious Reelsfoot. For a young kid it was high living to be traveling with the older guys and getting to fish was a bonus. One of the friends who is still alive at 93 and still fishing, had told so many stories of fishing “up north on the English river” I decided I would go UP North, wherever that was, as soon as I was mobile. That idea coupled with seeing Glen Lau and Bob Cary fishing Basswood Falls on a Sunday morning fishing show was what caused my first Quetico trip.
I have nothing against motorized fishing. At some point I suppose I will have to revert back to it, likely in my Post Drivers License years. Until then I will maximize my enjoyment by paddling, portaging and having friends who bring better Bourbon than I do. Regards, MossBack |
