I met Mike Kinziger in Balmertown Ontario back in August of 2014. He was about to fly out from Red Lake to Opasquia Provincial Park to embark on a 22 day solo trip. Fog and severe thunderstorms delayed his early morning flight for more than 8 hours so I got to have lunch with Mike and had the opportunity to talk paddling and fishing. A very interesting guy. We exchanged emails and have kept in touch.

I'm glad I didn't get him totally lost on his trip to OPP ... he was using maps I produced for him based on intel gathered while I (along with Jimbo and MP) was there in July, 2014.  Intel was also provided by Marten and Farmer (who made a trip in 2013) and Albert Rogalinski of Goldseekers Outfitting (who went up several years earlier along with some of the WCPP park staff, if I got that part of the story correct).

It was interesting scouting a few portages that were "presumed" to exist ... and were actually present for the most part (although you had to use your imagination on occasion.)
