Title: Re: Canoe Country Habits? Post by MossBack on Jun 7th, 2017 at 4:06am
In the primeval days, pre 40 years old, we packed vodka to mix with the crappy powered fruit drink the outfitters furnished with the food packs. We matured a bit more and embraced a wider variety including Patron Silver Tequila, Carolann's Irish Cream, Kahlua, etc., and did most of our drinking at the end of the day when bellies were full and chores were done.
Now it is mostly good Bourbon or A'bunadh Malt (Doc will applaud this one) enjoyed in very small amounts, but taken after lunch, after arriving at a campsite but before setting up, as soon as there is a chill in the air or anytime we have paddled in a daylong rain. The lacquered Sigg bottles we carry it in are stowed with small cups just beneath the rainfly tarp that always goes up first. Happy Campers. MossBack |
