I'd see if it's practical to paddle into Bewag...should be about 1.5 hours from the put-in at Lerome. There are several decent campsites on Bewag. The northern tip of the first island you come to is pretty nice.

Make sure you actually get to see Sue Falls. If you just stay on the portage trail, you might miss it completely as the portage is a little ways east of the falls. It's worth the time to walk over and appreciate the falls--they are pretty dramatic.


LostAgain is right; you don't want to miss them by walking past.  Your other option is to simply paddle around to the basin they drop into once you hit Cirrus Lake.  It's a pretty easy climb up the staircase of falls from there, especially after the spring floods have subsided some.
