The subject about tipping outfitters was addressed on the boards about ten years ago and briefly five years ago (although most of my search brought up issues about tipping canoes  :-[). I confess it had rarely dawned on me to tip outfitters in the past, although there have been exceptional trips where an extra show of appreciation would have been appropriate. I'm curious about what the standard is among the frequent travelers in Quetico.
  -  Do you tip your outfitter?
  -  If so, what amount?

For our upcoming trip, I elected to work with more of an independent/small shop rather than the big (by Quetico standards) business we have always used in the past. I can say that the degree of personal attention I have received to date warrants extra compensation!
