I've been using a Hilleberg tent for a few seasons now and think they're worth what they cost$$ My model is the Keron 3 GT. I got it for the arctic trips I've taken where there's plenty of space for set up and no place to hide in bad weather. It's big but doesn't weight as much as some smaller tents. But you don't get them because of the weight, it's the shelter they provide.  It's also the ease of setting up in the wind and rain, or taking down. The tent body is attached to the fly, but if you want, the body can be removed while you're still inside and packed away before you exit the fly into the weather. I did take it to Q in October and it does take a big tent pad space, but nice to have if. It's a 4 season tent so not the greatest when it's hot out, but I don't tend to tent camp where/when it's warmer. I prefer the solitude of the off seasons.

So I just picked up the Akto model too for my solo outfit. My other tents where 2 or 3 mans and other solo tents seemed tight.

I'm also getting a Western Mountaineering sleeping bag. My old Eddie Bauer bag, which I love, is just too heavy at 5 lbs. (big and warm). Some concessions to me age :-[

I'll report on both these post fall trip. All these gear items were observed or recommended from fellow trippers who do far more tripping then I do. So I'm pretty sure I'll be happy to report the results.

How is the ventilation in that tent?  Is there any mesh between the body and the fly?  I'm interested.  Being a summer Q traveler (June - October) would you recommend?

PJ, The Keron 3 GT model has vestibules on both ends with a small hooded vent on each end, the hoods can be left open even in the rain. Each hooded vent has a solid panel covering a mesh panel, and both can be zipped open for max air flow, i.e. no mesh, nothing stopping the air flow. Both front and back doors have solid panels covering mesh that can be unzipped to just mesh.  Top and side of the tent body are solid breathable fabric. Plus you can leave the vestibule doors open on both ends in nicer weather. That said the fly comes down to the ground, as do most 4 season tents. I wouldn't say the ventilation is their strongest point, but it's OK.

I've used it in Q late May early June, and the October trips mentioned earlier. And we do get hot days without wind on the arctic trips, but there you really need the solid storm protection.

It's 16.8 ft long though, so you need some room for it. But a huge tent with 2 vestibule areas at 10# 9 oz., the larger vestibule is 73" long, the other end has a 42" vestibule. For 2 people it's a Taj Mahal. Not so sure it's necessary to have all it's protection unless you were extending the season more. But Martha likes it as a sanctuary from the bugs and weather. She's happy, I'm happy.

I liked my Akto solo on my last October solo. Very sound tent. Quick and easy to deploy in bad weather. Rainfly, tent, and ground cloth are all tied together, so nothing flying away in the wind. The tent body can be taken down from the inside during a rain to store it away dry. At 4# complete it's not the lightest, but I doubt anything else is sounder. As with most 4 season tents it's not for the hottest days. Roomy enough for me at 6' and using a new 20 deg Western Mountaineering bag, I was never cold. Sweet bag too by the way, light and lofty. My 2 most recent kit indulgences.
