Have they sold any of these? I can't think of any reason to buy one. I can think of many reasons why this would not work well.

I understand their BWCA/Quetico model is completely rounded vs. just having the soft edges (shown in the video). This feature allows easier portaging. You simply flip the unit up on its side and roll the darned thing down the portage path... the ultimate in houseboat portability.
Also, there is an innovative "optional" lightning rod equipped buoy system that can be deployed/floated on a non-conductive cord a full 75 meters behind your floating camp. You gotta applaud entrepreneurs who work so hard to make safety first! Jimbo 8-) |

They actually make some cool stuff right here in the good old USA. I think this floating tent idea is more an exercise in engineering/design but who knows nowadays.
Jimbo didn't you witness two guys climb in a canoe FACING each other? That's 2 potential customers right there. :) ::) ;D I could see people using this overnight anchored in calm water but nowhere current/tide or big winds could push you God knows where. ;) ;D ;D (You need to Login or Register |

... then there's the "utility hatch" located centrally inside of the sleeping compartment. During inclement weather you simply open the hatch and "jig" for dinner without leaving the comfort of your shelter! It's kind of like a floating ice house. It's also a convenient "escape hatch" should a park ranger come by to check on your paperwork, etc.
Their next model allegedly features a helium balloon contraption that is covered with soft solar panel fabric. You release it skyward on sunny days and it gathers enough solar energy to run your in-boat lighting system as well as any electronic gadgetry you may have brought with you. It doubles as a radio transmission and reception antenna. Rumor has it they are toying with a pull-behind "launching/landing dock" for a small fleet of reconnaissance drones. Never again worry about whether that next campsite is already occupied! Simply launch your drone & find out. Power your drones with solar energy that you collect yourself! Now if you could only be sure the danged floating tent could actually be steered to that open campsite!! Jimbo 8-) |

That is where the optional SWIM FIN kit for two comes in handy! You sit side by side in the entrance way and just kick in the opposite direction where you want to go. Detailed directions on swim fin carry case (optional) ;D ;D |
