The last time I stayed at that site was a few years back. They didn't have that alternate firepit the guys were sitting at.

  At the time I rigged my Dry-Fly so I could build a fire in that rock wall firepit and stay dry while enjoying a nice fire.

I'm thinking the rangers built that alternate firepit because they feared sparks from that wall pit could ignite the brush behind it?

A fire on that island would be devastating and take out one of the few good known spots on Burntside.
