Title: DIY HAMMOCK STRAPS Post by solotripper on Oct 17th, 2018 at 4:30pm
I had to stake a tree to keep it growing into the soffit of my house. Instead of the wire guylines, I used this stuff. Impressive material.
(You need to Login or Register You can get it on Ebay for $21 including shipping and taxes! I had some left and after using it, I decided it would make great DIY hammocks straps. Made to take a load and easy to tie into carabiner loops. After my FUBAR hammock fall, I don't ever want that to happen again. :'( :'( I made these with just a double overhand loop on the end and singles for the carabiner loops. Lookin' good! When I was hanging my hammock this past September in the Q I inevitably thought of you and double checked my half hitch by the buckle to prevent me from slipping to the ground.

That's why I like to read trip reports that contain the good and the bad. Our pain might be someone else's gain. ;) ;D ;D |
