Title: Copia 2019 Lodging Post by Old Salt on Nov 26th, 2018 at 1:17am
All,
Lodging for Copia, March 8-10, 2019 is starting to fill up. The QJ Paddlers Rendezvous Will once again take place at the Country Inn & Suites, 400 River Place. The published Copia rate is $115 per night per room. You might be able to get it a little cheaper on one of the motel apps. If you take the Copia rate, you will need to call them at 608-221-0055 8-) The rate is good until February 15. More information will be posted in early January, regarding meetups and the QJ dinner. We hope to see everyone in Madtown for our annual rendezvous. 8-) BTW, the Minnesota Gophers have the AXE!!! 8-) If you’re planning to stay at the Country Inn & Suites, please post here. 8-) |

I'm booked but only for Saturday night. I'm at the Mayflower about 1 and 1/2 miles from Copia. It's cheap but close. $71 for a king size bed. If you guys are doing breakfast maybe I could meet you?
I can't share a room because I'm such a light sleeper and frankly I like my privacy. 8-) |

I get that. I can share many things, just not a room. Maybe it goes back to my days living at home and sharing a room with my brother since the age of 5. I once threw his alarm clock out the 2nd floor bedroom window. True story. He liked to hit the snooze button. I worked 2nd shift, he had to be up at 6:00 AM. I think I am scarred for life. ;D |

Tom,
My comment wasn’t aimed at you. It’s fine to have a private room. Don’t take it personal. ;) I’m looking forward to seeing you at Copia! Just pointing out the economy of sharing for those it may help. ;) Those wishing to share can make their own arrangements or post here if are open to anyone. |

I'm either staying with my son in Madison or getting a room at Country Inn. Either way I'm looking forward to attending and helping with the get togethers.
Safe travels........Mike |

Hmm......I'm picturing a geriatric Animal House.....bunch of old guys sitting around TALKING about how they'd party and trash the place. Half of 'em asleep.... ML, I don't think you'd have much to worry about!
RE: 'Copia.....no reservations yet, but if I didn't show up, where would you guys get your Leinie's Canoe Paddler? pd |

Copia could very well be considered ‘mandatory attendance’. 8-) |

I have reserved a room for Friday night. $109 for two Queensized beds when I called the hotel and got what the desk called the Rutabaga rate.
I will be there for Sat. evening dinner but will then head home. |

Thanks to all who have posted their plans to stay at Country Inn & Suites. We are in the process of negotiations for the meeting room for Friday & Saturday evenings and it may help to be able to point out the number of room reservations. If you are planning to stay there and have not posted, please do so. Thanks. 8-)

So, I pulled the trigger finally, got my Friday/Saturday reservation at the ol' CI&S too, at the Marten rate. Guess I better come thru with the Leinie's.
