Yeah,"80 pounds or so" sounds about right.  They were every bit that heavy!  Also, I had forgotten about the poor "tracking" until DD mentioned it.  Still, the cost of bringing your own canoe is probably prohibitive.

Like Magic, I can definitely see myself heading back up there.  It is a TRULY "remote" and wild place.  Also, you can't beat the fishing we found on some lakes.  On the other hand, be prepared to deal with contrary winds and skeeters.  You'll find BOTH, in abundance!
