I bought some Chota boots last year (thanks Portage Dog) and use smart wool socks.  They have good ankle support/protection, a fairly aggressive sole and are comfortable.  I am going to glue some felt on the bottoms this year as they're slippery on wet moss.  In camp I wear an old pair of tennis shoes.  I'm going to buy a pair of Chota hippies to go with the boots this year and see how I like them......kinda liking dry feet as of late!
