Thank you - I'll strive to be concise around here.  ;)

Ironically, unlike TomT,  I'm a consummate introvert, requiring a ratio of 2:1 for time alone: time with other people. Maybe that's the beauty of online forums. You can just paddle away when it gets to be too much. 

Incidentally, have any of you ever heard or met Michael Furtman, the author of the original post? I saw him speak years ago in Duluth - just terrific. So precise, soft-spoken, careful, and obviously so concerned with the protection of the area. His writings have influenced me tremendously over the years.

Gosh, I've already managed to ramble. Have a great weekend, everyone! Get out there and paddle if you're able.
