I am working with Bluewater Aviation to set up our July-August canoe trip in Atikaki. There are going to be planes coming and going when all plans are settled.

Rates are basically $6-7 dollars a mile for a cessna and can carry three and 800 pounds but not canoes on that plane.

The Turbo Otter can carry 2000 pounds with two canoes on the floats and is about $11-12 a mile. You pay both ways with a 40 mile one way minimum. Our plan is to have the needed canoes taken in on the first flight in mid-July. Two hard sided sided on the floats and one or two PackBoat 165s as needed carried as baggage. Last flight of the trip will bring out the canoes on the Otter.
