I have also had two new knees (and a new hip, but that isn't germaine to this conversation.  I wanted to do them both in 2013 but my surgeon advised against it.

I had the first one in 2013, with another surgery later in 2015 to resurface the patella.  The second one was in 2016.  My second knee is so good I cannot even tell that it isn't a "real" knee, it is 100% improvement.  The first one still has a few aches and a little stiffness, but I worked hard at PT and got full range of motion in both.  Definitely glad I had them done.
