We did that infamous goat hill portage....it has a few steep parts, but since my son and I were expecting worse, it didn't seem that bad....of course, my son carried the canoe on that portage and after Ted he made me carry the dang canoe on the remaining portages back to Bottle....he is weaker than me, ya know....  ;D
