Muscle and fat weigh the same (a pound of muscle weighs a pound, a pound of fat weighs a pound). It's like the old joke: "Which weighs more a pound of feathers or a pound of lead?"

Muscle is denser than fat. A pound of muscle will occupy less space then a pound of fat.
