My dog (an Australian Shepherd) was strongly food-motivated.  Ziploc bags didn't slow him down.  Neither did the Bear Vault with the lid not quite tight.  But when I closed the Bear Vault completely he ignored it.  These tests were done with extremely aromatic and tempting beef jerky.  So I'd say that keeping the outside of a Bear Vault odor-clean should do the trick.

I have some OPSacks (Odor-Proof) but haven't tested them, since the dog is no longer around.
