Title: Tump Line
Post by solotripper on Feb 1st, 2023 at 8:05pm
Some people love them, some hate them.
I tried making a set for my packs but they were hard to adjust so I nixed them.

I found this Tump Line for $5 US.
I know, how good could it be for $5.
I said what the hell, and bought one.
Cost more to ship than for Tump Line.
Total $15.62

I got it today and been walking around the house with my gear canoe pack fully loaded. Hooked it to the D-Rings on the side of the pack but I'm sure there are other ways depending on your pack.

I could easily handle the load on my neck. I plan on using it along with my DIY better canoe shoulder straps to take the load off my shoulders.

Will get another one for my food pack. Easy to put on and they can be adjusted on both sides to tune the load you want to bear.

When I throw the pack on I end up with my arm stuck through the trump.  It is uncomfortable to carry a pack with your arms tied behind your back.  Hate them.

The one I bought isn't long enough to do that.
It attaches to the D-Rings on the side of pack or the lifting loops. You couldn't put your arm thru it by accident unless you really tried.

You can still hate them.  ;) ;D
