Loved the scenery in Bowron but it's to crowded for a solo guy like me.
Adirondacks are beautiful as well but again for me to crowded. It would be nice to have a camp there though and a lightweight canoe so you could do a portage in one trip for short trips just carrying the canoe/pack. I carry my canoe like you do with a rope but mine is tied bow to portage yoke. I'm right handed so I let my arm rest on the rope with my left. Saves a lot of energy not having a hand raised gripping the canoe. My canoe seat/seat bag makes my canoe a little stern heavy. I can just put a little pressure by sliding my arm forward on the rope to drop bow when going downhill if I start to drag. It's amazing how such a little trick can make things so much easier. I'll never carry a canoe again with one arm up holding the gunnel. Give the rope trick a try you won't regret it. ;) 8-) |
