Title: Clark Jungle Hammock Post by Jimbo on Mar 11th, 2023 at 6:42pm
This is the Clark NX 270. I've owned two Clark Hammocks. In fact, I sold my previous one to a QJer just a few years back so I could invest in this upgraded model. All the relevant specs can be found on the Dutchware website at: (You need to Login or Register Also, I do regular maintenance on my hammocks (zipper and UV fabric protectants, water sealants, etc). This one is in "Very Good Condition".
I put this hammock up for sale with mixed feelings. If you follow my posts and/or my BWJ stories, you'll know I've mentioned it frequently and fondly. The craftsmanship and materials used in a Clark Jungle Hammock are absolutely superb. As you'll see on the link shown above, Dutchware commands a premium price for these attributes (and gets it!). You get what you pay for... and with the Clark you're getting a lot. Heck, what you're seeing on that link is the price WITHOUT the tarp! Those they sell separately nowadays! My tarp is the extra-large version and I'll toss it into the deal. So, why sell my Clark? My reasoning is fairly straightforward and reflected in the thread I recently started where I inquired about "Haven Tents." Due to back surgeries, a full hip replacement, and possible sleep apnea, I am seeking a hammock experience that emphasizes "flat sleeping." While you can get "close" to side-sleeping in a Clark (if you sleep at a slight angle), you don't quite get there. So, since the craftsmanship in a Haven seems comparable to the Clark AND since I've resigned myself to dealing with the extra weight I'll have to haul around (yes, it's a good bit heavier), I will likely give the Haven Tent a shot. I'm motivated to sell. In fact, I'd like to sell it by April. If it's still around after that, I'll probably just take it off the market and go to Plan B. Bottom line: if you're interested in purchasing my Clark Jungle Hammock, just drop me a PM. I'll e-mail photos, answer any questions, etc.. All reasonable offers will be considered. That's about it. So I ended up buying the Haven Safari tent hammock and I'm anxious to try it out. It should arrive this weekend. Yippee! If the Haven Safari sucks, you'll likely see me yank down my listing for the Clark Jungle Hammock next week.
I don't expect it to suck. One of my son's buddies has some interest in the Clark. He saw it in action for two weeks on LLC a couple years back during Covid Summer. He even wrote a story about that trip that got published in the BWJ. Anyway, the hammock may or may not be available after next week. He's still trying to decide whether or not camping is really "his thing" or not. We'll see. Meanwhile, I'm asking $150 for the hammock but will consider all reasonable offers. Again, these things are selling for $389 brand new... and that's without the tarp (which I'm throwing into the deal). I'll even throw in the tree-hugger straps and the metal "O rings" which make hanging a hammock oh-so-much easier [see: (You need to Login or Register ]. If you don't know the trick, you need to learn it! That's about it. Jimbo 8-) |

I've decided to hold onto my Clark Jungle Hammock for this season. So, this item is no longer available.
