I have a couple of these Harken Hoisters (#7801)  [see:   (You need to Login or Register ] that I have no further use for.  They are suitable for canoes up to 60 lbs in weight.  I took them down from my garage in Minnesota almost 2 years ago and thought I might use them down here in Florida but no dice.  My garage ceiling here is way too low.  I keep my canoes locked up on a storage rack down by the lake, instead.  Had to buy some expensive canoe covers to shield them from this never-ending sunshine down here but, oh well.

Anyway, the hoisters both work just fine.  I've attached a pic of one set deployed in my Minnesota garage, below. 

As you can see from the link, they each list for $171.80 brand new.  I'll sell mine at $75 each plus shipping.  Send me a PM if you have interest.

I only wish my garage ceiling here was a little higher.
