It would appear the bow guy was a Canoe "KAREN"  ;)
He was way out of line. You did the right thing because you had your lady to think about.

Me being a solo paddler, I would have stayed and made SURE he didn't sleep that night.  >:(

  I've never ran into anyone like that. One time I had the lead canoe in a group of 3 land at my campsite while I was on-shore fishing.

They guy gets out and starts to get a pack out of the canoe?  I asked what he was doing. He said it was a big site, plenty of room for everyone. I said there was another big site down the lake and his group could camp there because I didn't want to share.

  He got mad but I gave him the "look" he knew what that meant. Next day another canoe from his group comes by and tells me they guy was out of line and has been a PITA the whole trip ;) ;D

   You need one of these JJS, repels all kinds of pests  :-? ;D ;D
