well, I've always just bought one in Atikokan at the bait shop
till this year that is, when the guy told me they no longer can sell them? some change in the proceedure - luckily i was able to get one (reluctantly since I wasn't a customer) from Canoe Canada.

next time I'll buy one on line

so just a heads up to go ahead and get your lic online before your trip - I'd guess most people do that anyway.

Do they still make you get a Outdoors Card as well as a fishing license?

Yes - good for 3 years.
