A catastrophe of the magnitude of that dreaded Birch Bark Beetle Infestation (BBBI) of the early '90s!

An utterly shocking development. I'll digest this news when I regain my composure & possibly comment more later. Time to grieve, now....

The plot was worthy, well-conceived & well-executed. Maybe those of us with long memories will remain silent next year. It's probably more fun that way....
