CBSA announced a few weeks ago that they would be launching the new call in method - to the Telephone Reporting Center on June 8th and only at Prairie Portage and Cache Bay Ranger Stations at this point.  You should find/read the CBSA info - as what 'you hear' is not official.  That said, yes, you just show up and call in.  I came out of Quetico on June 9th and (having a vested interest later in July) stopped at the Ranger Station to check into it.  There is a small table in the station with three laminated documents/instructions, a lamp and a mobile device.  It's hooked up to the station's Wifi and when accessed. automatically connects you to the TRC.  You provide the required info, they do a quick check, give you a transaction number and off you go.  The ranger told me two groups used it on the 8th and both groups were approved and entered the park.  The group of two took 5 mins. and the group of 7 took 15, because they had to send someone back across the portage to get a reg. number off one canoe.  So have your info in order.

IF you still have an RABC, no need to report in - just those that do not.  The rangers are helping 'guide' people but are NOT doing CBSA's job, will NOT ask to see an RABC or your TRC number.  They're just charging the phone and doing ranger stuff.
