I thought I would share and do a quick review on this saw.  The saw on the left is one that I have had for at least 10 years.  I thought that I had purchased it at Harbor Freight, but I am not entirely sure.  The saw in the middle is a new saw (Model ZN111224B) that I recognized and was delighted to find at my local Menards.  The two saws are nearly identical, with only slight differences in the handle (the new saw handle is 3mm narrower and the mounting bolts are different).  On the right is a Japanese made Silky Big Boy saw for reference.

I have been very happy with this saws' performance and it has been my go to saw for most light campsite firewood gathering use.  The overall length of the saw is 16 inches with 10 inches of teeth on the blade.  The saw has a rubberized pistol type grip that is comfortable which makes it easy to control the blade.  The blade has adequate stiffness where it has not bound and bent on the push stroke, unlike some saws I have used.  The only downside of this saw is the lack of an adequate sheath.  It comes with a cardboard sheath, which could be reinforced with duct tape or replaced with a DIY sheath.  I have been meaning to make one out of some flexible cutting mat type material.

It is a cheap China made saw, but I like it. The saw cuts well and one of the best parts is, it can be had for around $5 at Menards right now...seems like quite a bargain to me.   By comparison, my Silky saw runs around $60-70.  The Silky has a longer blade and is up for more serious tasks like portage clearing or perhaps if you plan on venturing into the unknown, recently burned areas, I might instead choose it.  For general use I prefer this ZN111224B saw over the smaller folding saws that I have used.

No affiliation, just a satisfied user.
