Just got back from ice fishing Oak Island area in the Angle.  Spent a few hours snowmobiling to Kenora and back via Tug Narrows/French Portage Narrows/finally on to the North lake.  Was struck by the natural beauty of the North lake and the "ga-zillions" of islands.  It was my first time back there in over 20 years.  I instantly thought of returning in the summer to paddle them.

My questions
--have any of you paddled the islands there?
--harassed by motorized vessels?
--I've heard the "native" situation can be a little rough if one finds themselves paddleing into the wrong area?  Any truth to that?

Have any of you paddled out of Nestor Falls, Soiux Narrows, or Kenora?

Thanks

I've heard about the native issue myself from Bemidgites, however, who are we to blame them. Peace? I hope any how.  I have a friend that frequents this area all the time in the summer with a motorized boat. That is just how it is.  We have our spots, they have their's.  Perhaps someday we will put away our paddles too and be greatful for such lovely spots. Bring a pipe.
