I'm working on a masterplan for a 2005 family vacation based in the Grand Marais area that may include a 1/2 or fullday fishing charter out of Grand Marais, MN. The time would be the last week of July. I'm looking for any recommendations, as well as any fishing experiences on the big lake at that approximate time of year. If you don't want to post, please IM me if you know something I/we should know. Thanks. Wink Undecided

Just never chartered.

Little further down the shore - I could recommend a few people.  Got family in GM area, but they mostly live up the Gunflint.

o_s:

I charted out of Knife River on my honeymoon in 1993 w/ a Knife River outfit.  Can't recall the Cptn's name but he did find us fish w/ planer boards.  It was early August and we probably never got more than 1mi. off shore as I recall.  Not much help I know.

That time of year the really big Lake Trout are down in Western end of the lake (or Isle Royale). Take a Road trip down the beautiful north shore to duluth. Check out (You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) and then book on line or give me a call at 218-348-BOAT (2628)
