Seeing the notice regarding those two who want to go from Sr. Cloud, down the Mississippi to the Twin Cities, and recreate Eric Sevaried's trip of the Depression Era, made me think.  Has anyone here tried to do the old Fur Trade Route from the Mississippi R. north via the Big Fork River, and then to the Rainy River?  If so, how long did it take, and how did you have to provision/prepare yourselves?
