QP felt the need to allow those who unfortunately can't make the Jimboree this year a sneak peak at the beginnings of this fishing trip.  Wink

This small container holds QP's "Magic Bait"

OH MY !!  Looks as if there may be one for everyone!!

WOW!!!  What a trip!!

QP just wanted everyone to be on the lookout, as this "one-of-a-kind" bait is likely to catch more than just BIG FISH.

HAPPY 4TH.

Word of Cauction
The QP Magic Bait isn't worth using.  Here I thought I was going fishing and not a bite!
I did  find 2 MAGICAL WOODEN BOBBERS in my special Pack HOWEVER.   Grin
AND I can tell ya!  It kept me floating over those muddy portages.

Arrived home safe and sound.  Maybe I should sprinkle some magic dust tonight and for get going back to reality tomorrow?

Magic Bait?

Expect to see QP's picture on your next package of "Gulp Worms".  He should easily become their next national spokesperson based upon his performance during Jimboree 2.

Cedarboy,

Doubtless some of the pics will tell the tale best.  I may wait until I see what pics get posted & what tall tales get told before I post my complete (& bonafide) account.  Until then, I guess I can share a few highlights here, I suppose.

We certainly had a couple VERY pink evenings soirees.  My permit party (QP, Magic Paddler, Matunik, & The Fireman) paid a social call one evening to one campsite occupied by the other permit party (YB, Kingfisher, Old Salt, Young Pepper, & Intrepid Camper).  As our flamingo-adorned (original flock members, mind you) hood ornamented vessels arrived, we noticed the pink welcome banners on the trees & floating pink flamingoes out on the water (marking where OS had snagged a chub or two that afternoon).  Magic Baits (shown in QP's post above) were distributed, as were flamingo gumby-dolls (courtesy of IC), pink champagne glasses (courtesy of MP), battery-powered pink flamingo glowing eggs (OS, I think), and variety of other pink paraphelia.   We all shared pink flamingo stew (I think OS might have soaked a chub in it) and pink bannock.  It was a night of flaming pinko madness, I tell you!

All the multitude of canoeist passers-by certainly had incredulous vacant looks on their faces.  For the most part, they were speechless.  Due to the extreme traffic of those sorts of folks, word of the strange happenings & our unusual rituals has, no doubt, long preceded our accounts.  More later on that whole episode.

Other highlights & adventures that you may hear more about later include: a) trying our hands at moose-herding, b) cliff-diving, c) the discovery of a new pictograph featuring "Picto-bird", d) row, row, row your towboat, e) QP's discovery of an obelisk of possible alien origin, f) QP's discovery that he was just a chip off of Old Salt's blocks, g) adventures in hammock-sleeping (we had 3 hammock sleepers in different types of bear pinatas), h) how to land 40 pound beavers on light tackle, i) Kingfisher shows us his rope-a-dope technique, j) QP's Wilderness Pizzeria, and much, much more.

Gotta run.  More to come.....

So should the trip report and all related pink tales go here under rendezvoux header or under the trip report header just above ??

Let's decide and keep all related under one or the other, Moderators, you make the call.

It was a rendevous that became a trip report. Cool

Patience, my friends! Fermentation takes time and cannot be rushed!

Hopefully, the "slammer boys" will soon make bail, and begin to post...

As I understood from the little guy at the right, he was a bit upset about the color of the stew
And so it begins!   Grin

We're having some difficulty in coordinating our stories.

Just a short note to let you all know I am home safe and sound.  MY version of Jimboree will follow soon...everyone knows if you want the truth to talk to a woman!  Anyway, thought of the home bound members on Saturday as they pounded their way across LaCroix 2 hours on the tow boat in a 20+ west head wind.  I was on Crooked on a nice island resting up for the last two days of my trip.  Then on to Agnes with no real difficulties, but yesterday finishing the Moose River route found the river to be hard going.  Full of river grass and wild rice, barely enough water to float the kayak in some areas, some wading, lots of picking my way through rocky areas, over several beaver dams...overall pretty low water on that route.  It was a great trip and wonderfull company!  IC

Just an up date on the" pink flying magic baits", 2 of the baits have made their way into N.J. waters, mated, and are now the "hot" bait of choice of anglers in these parts.  Cabelas wants to start a line of "Pink Jimbos".  The only problem is, they attract fish that grow to 20+ lbs., and that's rare in these parts.  Gotta run, need to field testing.

Now you know why I switch to Gulp.  I got tired of them big bass breaking my fire line.
