I'd venture to guess that anyone familiar with wilderness canoeing knows who Cliff Jacobson is, or has at least heard of him. Cliff has authored numerous books, although I would say that Expedition Canoeing is probably the best, most comprehensive one. The book covers most every aspect of wilderness canoeing, from planning a trip through execution. While it does tend towards the big, northern river trips, almost every principle can be related to the BW/Q. This is a good read, especially for one who might be new(er) to the wide world of wilderness canoe tripping.

Read this last summer, and thought it was a great book also. I dont agree with everything cliff says but really liked his ideas on logistics, planning and gear selection for northern fly in trips.
