Like the Heinz commercial, I can’t wait. I leave for Quetico the second I stop typing this. I have been pack for two months. I will be introducing four novice treckers to the wilds of Quetico, and I am looking forward to experiencing  their excitement as they discovering the beauty of this wilderness for the first time. We will be entering Cache Bay, and we will ascend the Falls Chain. We will see how far we go.  Since this will be their  first time we plan to take it easy on the newbies. The spirits of the voyagers are smiling down on us; I heard the fire ban is lifted, my outfitter survived the Ham Lake Fire, and my entry point is open!  I will try to post a report on the trip and the effects of the Ham Lake Fire on my return.  Smiley

I'm thinking you may 'descend' the falls chain.  Wink Grin Grin Perhaps a little pre-trip homework would help. Have fun!

I am looking forward to your report. My son and I will be entering at Cache Bay in mid-July. While we plan to base camp on Saganagons, we also plan on a day trip down the Falls Chain.
