just toying with the thought. I'm not much of a social butterfly but thought this might be an interesting combo. Traditional type stuff in a very authentic setting.  Perhaps some longbow competion, goat squeezing, blackpowder offhand marksmanship, passing of the jug, stumpys talltales, beard shaving with flint knives and so forth and so on. And for the men ,we also could also include some sort of competions. Just a preliminary thought..any intrest ?

Buswhacker balladeering, voyageur rapping, determining how long it takes bagpipe music to bring a moose to its knees, finding out how many dozen QJer tents we can fit under Wenonah Rider's tarp... man, I'm starting to get really excited about this event!

Gee... You guys up north get to do all kinds of fun things...  All we get to do at family reunions here are, wrasling, greased pig chasen, Spot-light and 22 shooting at night... along with some serious banjo playing... kinda like in that movie Wink

Party on dudes........let's just stay on the right side of the thin line so that we don't walk the same portage as the now well known partyers from Ely did that fateful night in August

........tough for me staying on the right side of that thin line with my lightning struck, left-handed mush for brains telling me what to do.

Count on my tarp and I being there, just let me know when and where

Maybe we can add a new element of partying to Mad town during Copia next year.  We'll teach the UW students a few new things about partying

All right then , there may be some intrest.  As for the men shaving with flint knives, the ritual is forbidden by the traditions of my klan. Only pagen shes from lesser regions near the BWCAW follow the flint knife beard shaving ceremony. The male gender of the klan which rules the region now called the BCWA are proud of their physique and would never endander their prowness by going the way of the knife. One caress from the edge of a knapped knife could leave even the manliest to wear a wicked gash for life and that wouldn't be to manly. Men of the BCWA preen and pluck unwanted hair folicales by applying spruce gum to clam shells and use the clams much like modern tweasers.

While browsing for venison sausage recipes, I stumbled upon this beverage mix. I only sip in moderation, but this may be my choice for the rondy...everyonelse bring their own!

Chatam Artillery Punch:

1 lb. green tea          1 gal. gin
2 gal water               5 lbs. dark sugar
3 gal. Catawba wine  2 qts.maraschino cherries
1 gal dark rum          3 dz. oranges, sliced and seeded
1 gal. brandy            3 dz. lemmons, sliced and seded
1 gal. rye whisky       10 qts. champagne

Steep the green tea in 2 gal. of cold BWCAW water overnight. The next day strain tea through 3 laywers of fresh beaver pelt into 2 (5 gal gas cans). Mix strained tea and all the other ingredents except the champagne. Allow this mixture to mellow for at least 2 weeks in a cool dark place. To serve, pour the punch over ice and add 1 qt. of champagne for every gallon of punch. Makes 12 gallons.

wadda ya think... Huh
