Anyone been to Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo, TX? I've got a half day or so on my hands next week in the Tehjas panhandle. Any ideas on how to see this appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

I went there about 20 years ago.  To be honest, I remember it being really cool, but don't remember a ton of details about it.  I was a high-school kid at the time and went with a group of high-school kids and probably had other things on my mind - (Chicas).  I hadn't really even heard of this place since.  If you take some pictures please post.

I haven't been there in 10-15 years.  Too bad you couldn't make it during the summer months and take in the musical "Texas" which is performed in the evenings.  Pretty cool performance.

(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) is a link to a park map (pdf) put out by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Say "Howdy" to all my relatives living in Amarillo!  (You are closer to canoe country than they are from where I live.)

Keep in mind that you'll be at about 3500 feet out in the Panhandle ("High Plains") and while it may be warm during the day, its certain to be chilly in the evenings ... I think they have already had a dusting of snow this season.
