Anyone have any ideas as to where I can pick up some paperbacks cheap.  I know garage sales and swap meets are alweys the go to places but the selection is alweys hit and miss.  If anyone has a decent web based bookstore that doesnt charge an arm and a leg I would appreciate the info.  I am on a tight budget ( damn schooling) but I have a few dollars to throw around every now and again.

Check out Amazon.com, find something that interests you, and see if there is an option "# new and used from $X". That is often a good way to pick up a used copy cheap. I have had good success doing this with CDs.

If the UW in your handle stands for Wisconsin, then there is a decent used book store in the Milwaukee airport, if you're ever passing through.

If you give me a list of topics/genres for the books I'll give you a list ofthe titles I have in those genres, you pick em out, send me $$, and the books will arrive at your door step soon after, especially if you are a U Wisconsin kid (I'm in Chicago)
