Who makes BWCA Latrines - Firegrates? Want to buy one. (Read 8035 times)

	I am sure this will get some comments, but can someone point me in the direction on where to get (legally) one of those brown BWCA latrines and possibly a firegrate? I tried google and can't seem to figure out who makes them or where to get one. I saw a stack of them on the portage between Bald Eagle and Turtle Lake about 10 years ago, I guess I should have "borrowed" one then... Thanks, Gijikiki

	The Superior National Forest administers the BWCA. Their headquarters is in Duluth. Phone: 218-626-4300. Ask for engineering or recreation. If Barb Soderberg is still working, ask for her. She's the public service team leader. prouboy

	Would the backyard then have 75 people per day driving /walking past too? Would you have to go 200 yards into the woods to find firewood? Will he cut his trees down to 3 foot stumps and erode the root systems? Maybe scatter little peices of colored plastic food wrappers all over? May as well go as authentic BWCA as possible.

	I hadn't thought of that. Maybe I will go with the BWCA from the 80's. I could skip most of the things you mentioned but I would still have to peel all the birch bark off the trees around the shack .
