Tomorrow, my wife and I are flying Sun Country from MSP to Anchorage, AK for 2 1/2 weeks, to see our grandkids and their parents. Recently, 7/7/09, our granddaughter, Jacqueline Rae was born. She has my hair, but not my beard. Grin

Son-in-law and I are planning a trip to world-famous Kenai and Russian, and possibly Kasilof, rivers. It looks now like King salmon fishing will be closed due to a bad run this year, due to overharvest in the ocean, from what I hear. But we still plan to fish silvers, reds, and possibly some pinks. I'm also hoping to gather some info on AK version of Q, Swan Lakes. It has trout, dolly varden, lakers, and grayling. No waldos in AK. Huh

When I have time, I'll post something... Shocked

Just checked the AK fish count website, over 51,000 reds have entered the Kenai river in the last three days. Almost as good in Kasilof. YES!!!

Another 50,000 reds (sockeye) entered Kenai today. That's over 100,000 in last 4 days. Alaska, here we come! BTW, average weight is 8 lbs.

Bruce, how about stopping by my place when you pickup your Coleman seat back. I may have a 'care package' for you.  Wink

BTW, at last count, they have been coming in at over 100,000 fish per day. Today, AK Fish & Game doubled the daily limits in both Kenai and Kasilof rivers to 6 per day, and quadrupled possession limits to 12 per day. For those who may not be familiar, you can take fish out of possession by freezing them. Guess we may be forced to let the snagging, flossing, fishing begin!  Cheesy Cool Cool

shooting fish in a barrel. Apparently fishing is not down 20% in Alaska.  GrinHave a safe and enjoyable trip. Looking forward to hearing results once the onslaught begins.
