I know most of you will be leaving soon for BWR II, I will not be making an attempt because of my shoulder injury.  Cry

I wish you all a fun, exciting, & safe trip. Really wish I could be there, so at least have a platty for me.

Wish you both would be joining us...we will take lots of pics and make a report when we return.  We are paddling up to Prairie Portage the evening of the 9th and going in on the 10th and hope to be on Magie by the 11th.  Wink  Good thing I have a body guard with all those big bad wolves in the woods  Shocked

IC,

Please share my regrets and these special sentiments with all BWJ participants upon arrival.  I may be directly quoted, as follows: "Jimbo truly wishes he could be here to give us all the bird... just like he did last time."

I hate that I shall miss all the fun... arm wrestling competition, the bushwhacker-balladeering and Voyageur Rap sing-alongs, the who-can-carry-a-heavier-pack-than-Stumpy competition, etc. & so on.  I leave it for Kingfisher to chronicle these events accordingly for posterity.  Alas, maybe 2015 will be the year for me.

Meanwhile....

MAY THE FORCE (OF THE PINK FLAMINGO) GO WITH ALL OF YOU!!!

Jimbo,

In 2015, you should invite everyone to be on your trip in WCPP. Now that's some real bushwackin' & braggin'. Wink

Not even Stumpy has been where your goin'.

OS,

Going in doesn't have me half as worried as getting out!

I suspect those Bushwhacking Jamboreers will have their hands plenty full in the Q.  Over the weekend I was eyeballing topos of that Louisa/Magie Lake area.  Some of those cliffs don't look like they are to be trifled with (not to mention the obvious swamps).

Anyway, wilderness is wilderness.  One should always err on the side of caution. Wrong steps 50 miles north of the border or 300 miles north of the border can both lead to very bad situations and outcomes.

Use your head out there.  Paddle safely.

Magic,

Re: "leave home".   When you get stuck on that cliff, just make like Dorothy in Oz, click your heels together, and repeat "There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home."

If that doesn't work, click "Help" on your SPOT Messenger & I'll send in some helicopters & the marines.  If the Dorothy approach DOES work, be sure to let me know what you were drinking when (if) you materialize back in Chicago.  I want some of THAT stuff!

Re: the "hide the pack competition".  Yeah, that was one of the real crowd pleasers five years ago.  As a twist, I propose that you consider the "hide the tent" competition.  I imagine the bugs in that vicinity require periodic feedings.  Best to offer up somebody with a lot of meat on their bones....
