My guess is that some of you may have already received an e-mailed version of this (I got my copy yesterday and I noticed that CIICanoe did as well) from Claire Quewezence, Asst. Park Super. Today, I received confirmation from Claire that it was acceptable to post the information here.
(You need to Login or Register to view media files and links) (a pdf file).
I'll replace my personal link to this file with the park's link as soon as it is available.
Of of the projects you'll see discussed is one to create a system to provide information about park campsites. What is mentioned is a trip planning map showing campsites, but by virtue of a series of e-mails with Claire and Shannon Walshe, Park Biologist, I know that a campsite database is also in the works (maybe something similar to Azalea's PCD).
Speaking of Shannon Walshe ... name sound familiar? For Quetico visitors, it should. She's Shan Walshe's (long-time Quetico park biologist) daughter. (You might also have a map showing Shan Walshe Lake over in the McNiece/Armin area.) I guess you can say that, in this case, the fruit didn't fall far from the tree.
I'll keep you posted about future developments in the map/database venue as they become developed to the point of use.
