I'll drag a lure east-west thru there on Monday if you need me to.  However, you'll have to wait a couple of weeks for an answer.

Last year my group did an overnight on Bunny mid-late July on our way out (to Leano the next day).  Much of the effort was devoted to fishing the northern half of the lake.  Some lakers were taken, but as a trout lake, it wasn't particularly special.  This observation could have been influenced by the weather change we experience later that evening ... that's the night a tornado struck near Ear Falls causing multiple fatalities.

Thanks for the info.  We won't be there until the first week of August.  Thanks again.

Bunny Lake is situated so close to the put in at Leano that we've never heard many reports on the fishing. Most folks are in such a hurry to begin their trip or focused on getting a shower (see the smelly...stinky topic) that they don't drop a line.

All I can tell you is that trout are there. Perhaps its sooooo good that people want to keep it to themselves!

My friends had good fishing for trout in Sept. by jigging Kastmasters 1ounze as the breeze moved them along the east side of Bunny.

If you draw a line from the northern most island on Bunny to the long point that extends spouth toward it in the middle of the lake there is an underwater saddle that rises to about 8'. There is a campsite on the mainland east of this spot where Jimbo and crew stayed. We found lake trout by trolling the edges of the saddle at 18'. We had the only ever triple header in a canoe there and managed to land all three fish. What a fire drill that was. Later, on the way to clean fish we lost the whole stringer over deep water because of a bad knot. No lake trout for dinner. Ah yes, another fish story.
Good luck!
