I'm thinking you could get into some good fishing about anywhere. I'll be going through there in June too and would suspect a quick trip to Glenn would give you some good day tripping/fishing options. Maybe Doug or Marten will chime in.

Didn't fish Onnie or Hjlarmar(s) on my way out last year, but I did fish Telescope, Glenn and Mexican Hat in that area.  (I skipped fishing Optic along that route due to high wind and rain when I was going through.)  You should be able to do Laker, Walleye and Pike on all of these lakes, but I focused my fishing a bit with the follow results:

Telescope:  Lakers
Glenn: Walleye
Mexican Hat: Walleye

Apparently there are some "Blue" Walleye along the Telescope to Onnie chain, but I didn't turn any.

Hatchet Lake may be what you are looking for. It is only four portages and most groups would need about a half day to get there. The park info lists Walleye, Lake Trout and Northern Pike for Hatchet Lake. A nice size and shape for base camping and fishing. The park campsite map shows two sites. The campsite on the main body is 2 miles up the lake from the Douglas Portage and 1 mile from the portage to Peterson Lake. UTM15U 408351 5649157.There is room for two small tents near the water but when I first visited I went up into the trees and threw the fallen wood aside and set up there. It is on a small point and should have good breezes. The other campsite is at the portage to Peterson and would have no breeze.

There is a private cabin near the Douglas Portage. There are also boats cached at the Douglas Portage. I am not an avid fisherman so cannot give any rating on how good the fishing is. I have been there 3 times and have never seen another person on the lake.
