I've seen this mentioned and was interested in a weekend ro long weekend trip.  I have "Paddling Southern Wisconsin" and the paddling.net link to launch sites but still not comfortable I've got a good picture of camping optrions and wheter or not you can paddle most of  this in teh fall or not.  Seems put in around Albany or maybe New Glarus WI and get out as far south as Rockton IL.  Links, experience comments, pm's, all welcomed.  Thanks.

The recent rains should have brought water levels up. I was on the first Illinois section a few weeks ago and had plenty of water. Missing the channel and running up on hard sand is the only downside from Nelson Road on south. I would avoid the section from near the little burg of Avon,Wi to Nelson Road. Too many channels to pick from unless someone has recently cut a way through. There is very little development along the river from Nelson Road to Harrison,Il where it joins the Pecatonica. Camping is available on the riverbank in Sugar River Forest Preserve which is 2-3 hours downstream from Nelson Road. Two hours more from the campground to the Two Rivers Forest Preserve where the Sugar joins the Pecatonica. It is then 10 miles on the Pecatonica to Rockton where there is a boat ramp in the Macktown Forest Preserve and one on the other side of the Hwy.2 bridge.
