Here is the URL to a good video of paddling the Woolverton Trail which is near Placida, Florida and in the Charlotte Harbor area.  The area is filled with water birds and many lurk in the mangroves where you get excellent viewing of them.
I have seen Bobcats, ferral Hogs, and Otters while paddling in the trails too.  The trails are a great side-trip if the weather is cold or windy enough to not want to be out on the open harbor area.
